Is there a correlation between ears ringing and breaking gl? Supernatural?

So I have always heard that ears ringing=somebody talking about you. Well, yesterday, out of nowhere, my (left) ear began to ring and I said "somebody is talking about me". Well, it kept ringing, to the point that it was a deafening sound, and I felt like my head was going to explode (think of an opera singer singing a note that breaks gl). At the same time, I was holding a gl sugar bowl in my hand (strong thick gl sugar bowl). The noise made it to a point where I couldn't take it anymore and at the same time (the climax), the sugar bowl broke in my hand. My boyfriend witnessed the entire thing and we were both freaked out. I am just wondering if there is any type of correlation between the events. I am not generally strong enough to break gl like that (unless it threw it).
