How Do I Help My Brother Who Is A Habitual Liar?

Please help me...I don't know what to do anymore. My Brother is very manipulative and should be the poster child for Narcissism and Delusions of grandeur. It is far too long and complicated to get into detail...but It was brought to my attention today as to how serious and dire this situation is. He lives in CA and he usually calls me everyday. well, I spoke with one of his friends today because I hadn't heard from him in a week and she told me that he was at his Daughter's house. HUH??? My brother has no children. she told me that his wife was murdered so he has to go see his daughter...He was never married. She even said that he showed her a photo of his daughter and she has blond hair and is 21. Sounded to me like he was showing a photo of my cousin. Also he told his friend that he can't deal with the death of his wife and now his daughter has a terminal illness. what? I myself have a terminal illness and the description his friend told me that he described to her is what I have. I don't know why he lies like this. But is there anything that I as his sister can do to step in and maybe force him to get help?
